  I found this property online and immediately fell in love with the photos. After reading some of the reviews, I was a little apprehensive to the location (no direct access to the beach) but considering the large group we had figured it'd be easier for us to load up a car and drive over anyways. With 4 adult couples and 2 teenagers, this place was ideal! The separate living quarters upstairs was a blessing as it allowed for a retreat away from the "night owls." We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and our two dogs loved the fenced yard—with two larger labs we didn't have the worry that some may have about little dogs escaping. The decor and accessories as well as a well-stocked kitchen gave this property all the comforts of home. The open floor plan of the living room, dining room and kitchen was great for our large group. It was very easy to visit with everyone while preparing meals. And the large dining table was perfect for a game of cards! We also took full advantage of the great weather and relaxed by the pool and took leisurely strolls along the paths throughout the community, when we weren't at the beach. I will definitely recommend Port A Escapes and the Village Walk community to friends and family. We hope to return again very soon!

  We loved the property minus the fact that there was no beach access. Also, we did get a 12am visit/knock on the door from the owner who was not aware that the property was rented which turned out to be a bit of an awkward situation. The property is very comfortable and clean.

  Everything was perfect for our family birthday celebration in this lovely house. The only thing missing was the intstuctions on useing the modemn and the televisions were not working properly downstairs. But your on vacation who needs them.

  We rented this beach house for a weekend trip with friends, and we've rented in Port Aransas for three summers at other locations. This house had everything you could need in terms of kitchenware, soaps, linens, etc.,. The only thing we really needed to bring was beach towels, food, and clothes. It was really great. It's a pet-friendly home, and the downstairs has all concrete floors, which is fantastic given all of the sand, coolers, etc.,. Everything about the home was really excellent--the only surprises for us were the layout and beach access. And those may have been surprises if we just didn't read carefully. There's a master suite downstairs, and then there's a separate outdoor stairway to access the two upstairs bedrooms and bonus sitting area. It wasn't a big deal for us because we were all adults, but if I had small kids, it would've been a bad layout for us. Also, we couldn't find a reasonable walk to the beach. The walk to the access road was quite long, and it seemed as though wire fences cut off all logical routes. If it hadn't been for that, we would say this place was absolutely ideal.

  Magestic Sun is a lovely dog friendly beach house. The stained concrete and wood floors are great for allowing dogs in the home. Although it is dog friendly, it does not smell as if dogs have been in the home, which is great. The pillows on the couch could probably use a cleaning but otherwise the place was in great shape. The home is cheerful and pleasant with lots of windows, tall ceilings and tasteful beach decor. I have one suggestion for the backyard, the lansscaping on side of the house could use some tropical flowers or other type of plant. Overall, the home is appointed very tastefully and there is really everything one could need for cooking/eating a meal at the house, which is great. Like the new placemats and love that many of the lights downstairs have dimmers. Great touches throughout. We will be back to Magestic Sun!

  This was a wonderful little escape for 4 girlfriends and 3 kids! It was decorated so cute and maintained very well...had everything we needed and more! It was great because we put the boys upstairs and all the moms downstairs in the main area! We loved sitting outside in the front of the house for our morning coffee and in the evening for drinks. The walkway between the colorful houses was so really cute also.
  It was great to cook a meal and be able to stay there and enjoy the place! It would be a great place to stay several days because it has a washer and dryer also. The only drawback is that there was no direct walkway to the beach. The bridges close to the Village Walk are privately owned and blocked off so you must drive or have a long walk.

  We had a great time, and thought the house was comfortable and very nice. The only issues we had were the fan not working in one of the upstairs bedrooms, so we changed that out ourselves, because we're handy like that. We also felt that the house could have been stocked better. There was no laundry detergent, very few plates, no trash bags. We ended up having to buy those things, but the last house we stayed at down there it was provided, and I feel that it should be as those are minimal things to provide. Overall we had a great stay, and our issues were very minor.

  We enjoyed our stay at Port Aransas very much. The floor plan of VW #23 fit us nicely. Our son & his family visited from Austin and had their own apartment upstairs with separate entrance. The house is about a 2 to 3 minute drive from the beach. The weather was great most all of the time. We walked the beach nearly every day. The owner installed high speed internet while we were there. The service is very good. The house is fantastic! Big, open feel. Brenda, Lorna and Tracy at Port A Escapes made sure that our stay was problem free. We will return next year if the kids stay in Austin and if the house is available.

  We had a great visit and loved the property! It worked very well with our family for both group activities and privacy. The only disadvantage was the walk to the beach which required cutting across some housing construction sites and then a walk through the sand dunes as the board walk was locked and owned by another association. There was road access to the beach but this required driving.

  Port Aransas Escapes and they were so nice and friendly. They helped us find a home that accommodated our family and pets. Their home was beautiful, clean and refreshing. It was a world of difference from the place we came from. These people are such life
  savers, I have recommended them to all our family and friends and will continue to do so. The beach was just down the road, and it was a nice pet friendly beach. We're planning on going back soon, and wouldn't think of renting with anyone else.

  This is a wonderful place to stay. Wonderful home! Another reason we love it is because we get to bring our dog. There were quite a bit of ants in yard but I'm sure it's taken care of by now.

  Overall, the house was wonderful. It has beautiful decor and was close to the pool. The only two complaints that I have is that there were no sheets at all for the pull out couch upstairs or blankets (luckily we brought our own) and the refrigerator downstairs was not cold at all and a lot of our food went bad. They did send someone out the next morning to fix it. There is no beach access, but it is not far and we wanted our cars there anyway. The open kitchen and living area was great. Will recommend to friends.

  Overall we loved this property, it was laid out perfectly for 2 families and entertaining. Also loved it's convenient proximity to town. One drawback was the lack of "direct" beach access & the beach walk was about 1/2 mi as apposed to the 2 blocks advertised. We also had a bit of a roach problem when we arrived, but management took care of it immediately. We would definitely recommend this property to others!

  Although our first trip to the beach w/ our 19 month old son coincided w/ Hurricane Alex, we managed to have an enjoyable time. The property is new and in excellent condition. The property is both tasteful and topically decorated. The pictures on the website are exactly what we found on site. I loved the cute houses, the white picket fences, the on-site pool, and the close proximity to the beach. Since Port A still has a beach you can drive on and we were packing lots of baby gear, we found the 2 minute drive matched our needs. I had worried about not having walk-on beach access, but it wasn't ever an issue. We would definitely recommend this rental.

  The house was very cute. The fully stocked kitchen needs a potato masher and some casserole dishes...cooking Thanksgiving dinner was somewhat of a challenge. The description also said the house had a grill but it didn't. We had to wash towels daily...not very many for a house that "sleeps 10". Our only other disappointment was the beach access....there was no way to access the beach boardwalk across the street. Aside from that, the unit was very cute and well done. Thanks for a great stay!

  This is a VERY nice property, in great condition, beautifully decorated. I felt a little misled by the description, though.
  This is a VERY nice property, in great condition, beautifully decorated. It's our sixth year at SandFest and our sixth house/condo to rent, so I know by now not to have high expectations of beach properties. ;) Still, I felt a little misled by the online description.
  
  PET FRIENDLY and FENCED YARD doesn't mean that you can expect your dogs to be safe outside. There are at least three easy ways for a smallish dog (say, 25 lbs or under) to escape. We almost lost a schnauzer!
  
  UPSTAIRS is accessable ~ONLY~ by a staircase on the outside of the house. I should have figured that out from the photos, I suppose. Those stairs don't feel very stable to me, and the only way to communicate with upstairs guests was to walk up there or call their cell phone.
  
  NEAR THE BEACH is true, but the community boardwalk to the beach has a locked gate. It could be because the walkway needs serious repair. We eventually spotted a 'detour trail' next to it, but it's not an easy trek, especially if you're loaded with supplies.
  
  GARAGE is inaccessible because the homeowners keep their personal possessions locked up in there 'like everyone does,' said the property manager after we arrived. Really? That hasn't ever been the case for us before.
  
  PERKS WORTH MENTIONING: The downstairs bed is a Tempurpedic. Bath towels are thick and plentiful. Furniture is wonderfully oversized and comfy. Kitchen is indeed pretty well stocked with equipment. There's an outdoor shower and a garden hose to help rinse sand off yourself and your gear.
  
  WHAT IT WOULD TAKE FOR US TO RETURN: For this amount of money (by far the most expensive place we've ever rented), it's silly not to include internet access. There should be DVD players for the big TVs. That Tempurpedic bed needs decent pillows! And call me pissy on this last item, but if you want m
