  The house was fantastic, but the real item that set this apart for me was the customer service. We had planned this as a company business retreat and were going to be working for the week from the beach. So we were rather concerned when the neighborhood interent connect had difficulty reaching the house. After a call around 4:30 upon checking in about the situation, I was expecting to have to continue making calls and acknowledging work wasn't going to happen. Instead, I woke up the following morning to people in the garage installing a wireless hub inside the house. It made the difference between a good and great week.

  We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Our extended family meet in Port A for a family reunion/vacation and it was the perfect property to give everyone their own little space. The courtyard and pool area was perfect for our little ones ages 1-10 to splash around under our watchful eye. The patio area was perfect for communal dinners. If you are looking for a lot of space for a big crowd but still give everyone their own nook to escape to, this is your place!

  Our retreat experience was BIG and expansive. We were comfortable and our needs were met. What more can you expect...the weather even cooperated! Our unresolvable technical difficulties were approached with intentions and attempts that were disappointing but satisfying. The island towers just weren't working for us that weekend. Our group, the International Black Summit Facilitators, would recommend Texas Big House. And, we will return.

  It was my college reunion and everybody had a good time.A breath of fresh air from classmates that came from LA,NY,FL,UK,PA,CO and IL.We had a blast!They were impressed by the only complaint is the shower curtain that are dirty on my side of the house.Overall,it's awesome!I love to go back there for my family get together.Thank you for wonderful memories this place had provided.

  This is an amazing place to be if you want to spend time with friends and family. Lots of space!! The only downfall was that the beach is not at a walking distance but it was not a huge issue. We loved our stay here and it will definitely be a place we revisit.

  We had a great time at #67! Plenty of space to spend time alone when you needed it, and a great common area. Made a fire in the fire pit, kids had s'mores, swam in the pool and in the Gulf! Great Thanksgiving weekend!

  The Texas big house was a fantastic place for our family reunion the houses were clean and in good shape however we had some issues with the air conditioners but Patrick from Port a escapes was quick to get someone out and have it repaired Thanks for the Great job!! The pool was wonderful as we were able to swim in the evenings after dinner and still head to the beach in during the day. We will book this place again.

  For Spring Break 19 of my sorority sisters and myself stayed at The Texas Big House. I cannot count the number of times we all mentioned how perfect this house was. Everyone had their own space, no one was crowded. For my group we rented out both houses and the carriage house. We split up the kitchens so we had a breakfast and lunch kitchen, and the other house was the dinner kitchen. We had a fire every night and laid out by the pool all day. The fact that we had private pool access and a fire pit area made the entire trip. The floors are all wood and concrete so no worry about spills. There are a few things to look out for. The house has no outside radio so if you want to listen to music while sitting by the pool, fire or picnic table make sure you bring an IHome. If you are traveling with a large group make sure to bring your own baths towels because there are only two per bathroom. There are no closets in the bedrooms, and there is no boardwalk to the beach so you will have to drive but it is literally 2 minutes. Other than those little details this is the best house for a large group of people. I mean of course, that is why it's called Texas Big House!!!!

  As the property was new, there was still a bit of a punch list to be completed, but overall we had a great stay! There were 15 of us with lots of room to stretch out. Love the courtyard with adirondack chairs -- we spent most evenings there & most mornings
  poolside. VERY responsive & professional management company!

  Our church held our Annual Leadership retreat/conference at the Texas Big House. It was a great facility. Very homey and relax and enough room for us to all (17) to meet in the same room. Everyone told me they came away very refreshed, slept well and had a great time to relax.

  On the whole it was a great experience for everyone at this home. Lot of space and good amenities. I wish the floor was wooden. Staff were very friendly. Beautiful beach was just 2min away on the car.

  I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. It was a great location, amenities were was simply amazing and the perfect place for our vacation. There were 21 adults in their 20s and we all left only wishing we could have stayed longer. The only negative thing I have to say is that in the yard/outside common area was filled with sharp rocks...which I found weird because we are at the beach so we were all barefoot and it was hard to walk around with the sharp rocks. I would like to see the property owners maybe fill that area in with concrete or something along those lines so you don’t' have to worry about finding your shoes just to cross the yard (because as you can imagine with 21 people things get kinda hectic). Other than that everything was perfect. We will definitely be staying here again in the future. Also, the property management staff was spectacular!!! You can't go wrong with this place!!!

  The house is large with separate space for multiple families, as we had. That was great. The space in the rooms and bathrooms is extremely tight, hard to fit our small bags in. We found the internet access very useful, and the beach was a very short drive away, which was nice. Community pool is small. One of the kitchens was so tight it was difficult to open cabinets and the dishwasher. The furniture in the common areas was large and comfortable. The dining tables were awesome inside and out. Wish there was a clothesline outside!
