South Texas Birding in Port Aransas

The tropical island community of Port Aransas, Texas, is well-known for its breathtaking beaches, world-class deep sea fishing, and island-style restaurants, but we’re quickly growing into one of the best South Texas birding destinations. The annual Whooping Crane Festival is held annually at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in an effort to celebrate and preserve the world’s last naturally-occurring whooping crane population.

Harvest Moon Regatta

Join us at the Texas coast this fall for the annual Harvest Moon Regatta! While Texas is known for its delicious food and great music, it is also home to a great sailing scene! Yacht owners from around the country flock to the Lone Star State at the end of October to take part in North America’s largest port-to-port race, the Harvest Moon Regatta.
