My Happy Place was a perfect place for our extended family beach vacation. We enjoyed the covered back patio and the kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms being on the ground floor for some of our family members' mobility. It's fairly close to the beach, but we rented a golf cart, which I highly recommend for ease. The neighborhood is well-maintained, and we enjoyed the community pool and quiet atmosphere.

Not new, but comfortable house was perfect for our small family gathering - six adults and two dogs. No one had to sleep on a couch or futon. Quiet neighborhood, with an easy (10. min.) walk to the beach - up the street and down the boardwalk. We did not rent a golf cart, but many in the neighborhood used them, giving super easy access to the beach. The house is well maintained, was clean, and well stocked with basic dishes and utensils. We would come again, and would recommend to family or friends.

We loved this rental. It was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with items for cooking. We had 3 generations of family and enjoyed the 2 bedrooms on the ground floor for the older people. We liked the location by the beach and a little out of town. The house had everything we needed and more.

The house is very nice. Well set up with two ground level bedrooms and bathrooms along with an upstairs.
Sofa's are pretty old and should be replaced. Oddly enough, the sheets on the king bed in the master were like paper. Very rough and should be replaced.
Other than that, house was clean and well equipt. We will definately stay again.

We enjoyed our stay at My Happy Place! The kitchen is well stocked with much so if you enjoy cooking your own meals, you will be pleased. The outdoor eating area was wonderful! The kids enjoyed the added entertainment area in the garage. The bunk room is a bit tight, but for sleeping only it was fine. Not a bad walk to the boardwalk either. It was a great time away!!

My husband and I took our 2 teenaged daughters (15 and 17) and 3 other girls (all aged 17) and a boy (aged 16). My Happy Place had more than enough room for all of us to have our own space. We were VERY thankful for 3 bathrooms when everyone was getting ready. I'm going to break down our stay from start to finish:
I received several texts messages from the rental company- some even recommending places to take our herd to eat on a budget! I appreciated that. Check in was easy as could be- I was texted a code and we popped right in. The layout was such that my husband and I were able to be downstairs and let all the girls take over the upstairs bedroom and loft. The boy got his own bedroom on the other side of the downstairs- so everyone had privacy. The location was amazing- the kids had cars and a golf cart to get on the beach, but some times they chose just to walk across the boardwalk- having that option was ideal for us. The outside shower was so nice- all kids were able to rinse off so I didn't have to chase them around with a broom. The beds were all very comfortable. Downstairs is a king bed with in suite bathroom in one room and a queen bed with a bathroom right outside the room on the other side of the house. Right when you get up the stairs, there are 2 twin beds in an open loft area and past that is a bathroom then another bedroom with a double bed on bottom and twin bed on top, there is an additional pull out under the bunk bed so all 4 of our 17 year old girls were able to fit in there. The weather turned cold while we were there and our kids had a blast playing ping pong and listening to music in the garage playroom.
This was by far one of the easiest vacations we have ever had! We just brought groceries for the kids to eat and beach towels. Everything else was provided. We will absolutely return to this house in the future!!!!!!

We had a great 3-day weekend at this home. The island decor set the mood for a relaxing getaway. What a peaceful and walkable neighborhood! The proximity to the beach boardwalk was perfect. We enjoyed the covered patio and grill area and the kids had fun in the game room. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was plenty of room and beds for our party of 8. Managment was helpful as always.

Enjoyed our stay, house was clean. Garage access was a bonus as get gave me a secure place to store my Jeep doors. Proximity to the beach and pool were perfect. Door uses a code didn’t have to pick up any keys.

Very good location...walk to the beach, and the small community pool was two doors down. Restaurants are a short drive into town. The game room was a fun feature too. We had a great time here - after coming to Port A twice a year every year for the past 18 years, this is now one of my new favorite places to stay and will stay here again. The kids and adults loved the gameroom in the garage. Location very convenient to the beach - easy walk to beach. Cute house. Good layout. We had 9 people and it handled all of us just fine. BBQ grill was great and we used it for steaks and burgers. Port A Escape office staff were very helpful anytime I called to ask questions about check in and check out - which were both very easy! My family had one of the best times we have had at Port A - so happy we found this place. :)

Great location away from areas that are super busy but still just minutes to town and restaurants. You can haul everything to the beach with no problem by foot over the access bridge. Quiet, sweet neighborhood!

The home was perfect for 2 adults and our dog. The home was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. It is very close to the dune walkover. The bed was comfortable, the living room was nice with 2 couches, a nice big kitchen table to spread out, and the kitchen had enough space to move around. It was misleading that the backyard is not fenced in. The front porch was nice, but the big palm bush took up the sidewalk leading to the front door.

A precious little house in a great neighborhood was just what we needed. The house was very clean and the bedrooms were roomy and decorated very nice. The porch around the front is great to sit and relax. Our only issue was the size of the kitchen. It is very small!!! It was difficult to have 2 people in there at once and we love to cook so that was disappointing. Other than that great vacation!!!

A huge group of us head to the beach each year and rent homes near each other. We shared this house with one other family and had plenty of room. Great game room. Clean and in good condition. A few minor appliance issues that we passed along to the manager but didn't request any fixes while we were there. Just know that the LOFT with the 2 twin beds is right at the top of the stairs and you have to walk thru it to get to the upstairs bath and the "bunk" room.

The Happy Place is very well located. If you rent a golf cart, it takes you just 2 minutes to get on the beach. The house was clean and the decorations are very tastefull. Even a small nightlights for the kids in the bathrooms. There is a code to enter the house so you don't have to worry about losing the keys on the beach. The garage/playroom was the cherry on top.

The house has a good layout and is about 3 blocks walk from the beach. The furniture and bedding is nice. The kitchen is a bit small. The tvs in the bedrooms did not work. Overall I recommend this house and wound stay there again.

This house is everything it says it is! We did bring our pop-up shade for the backyard which was a good idea. We did have to call maintenance once but they did arrive in a timely manner and took care of our concern. Overall a very nice property with the game room in the garage helped with even more space to enjoy each other’s company. We did rent a beach buggy which I would recommend...the boardwalk is just around the corner and it really helped getting people and stuff to the beach very easily.

We had a wonderful time going to the beach via you new boardwalk. The internet problem was unexpected, but we survived. The barbecue pit was full of guck and had to be cleaned before use. When we used the vacuum cleaner to pick up as much sand as possible, it was plugged to the brim. Other than these unfortunate snags, we really enjoyed our stay.

This house was a great place to stay with just a few problems. We had no internet the whole time(and had 5 teens with us), the pool was green the first 2 days we were here (and we were only here 4 days,so we couldn't swim), the backyard grill is very old and was small so we had to do half our grilling on the stove top indoors, and shelves were falling out of the refrigerator. Besides that - the house was great, we loved the game room, there was plenty of space for all 7 of us, the front porch was a great place to have coffee and it was quiet and peaceful on the street. Many dogs ran loose not on leashes, so if you aren't a dog lover,this might pose a problem as well.

The place was really wonderful and well equipped and there were plenty of beds for everyone. I would have preferred something closer to the beach. However, there was a night when vacationers catty corner from our unit chose to party until 5:00am. I don't know how many people there were, but they had 5 vehicles. They were totally disrespectful of all the other vacationers. They hollered, sang, shouted, played loud music until security showed up at 5:00am. In hindsight, I should have called the police. I did complain to management but was told it was not one of their units. I'm certain that most days, this unit would not be affected by such a crowd.

Very nice accommodations for the family. Close to the beach and town. If any issues management was prompt in their response. Grill needs to be updated and larger and upstairs beds are really futons. Children could tolerate it but not young adults.Other than those drawbacks an extremely nice place to stay. Thank You,Hess family

My Happy Place is the the perfect beach house. It was clean, the rooms were spacious and bathrooms were the nicest ones I've had since I've been renting homes in Port A. It has a great front porch to sit and relax. And the converted garage into a game room is a nice touch. Every night we had a ping pong and I foosball tournament. Now, all that said, the house has it's issues. Ten minutes into our stay, one of the glass shelves in the refrigerator, fell apart. The glass didn't break, so I tried to fix it myself. Without doing anything, the tempered glass shattered in my hands (probably due to temperature change) slicing open one of my fingers. When we tried to clean up the glass and blood, they had no cleaning supplies. The fridge had other issues. The lunchmeat drawer fell apart and one of the door shelves broke when opening the door, breaking all of our food containers on it. It also does not cool properly. Luckily, we had Yeti coolers to store some of our food do to lack of shelving. Half of the blinds do not work. The shower water pressure is terrible, can't even use the one upstairs. All the guys used the outdoor shower because it had the best pressure. The thermostat is located upstairs where it gets nice and chilly, but the downstairs bedrooms got warm at night. The outdoor grill is an insult to grills. It's not much bigger than a hibachi on wheels. We planned to grill steaks one night but decided not to because it could only hold two steaks at a time and would have taken forever. If the homeowners were to fix these issues, I would definitely rent this property again, because it is a great beach house.

5 adults and 3 children perfect! Love the loft area with TV for kids. Plenty of privacy for adults. 3 great bathrooms and amazing outdoor shower got plenty of use! Very very clean and well equipped. Distance to the beach was easy even for a 2 year old.

Cute little home! We have 5 adults and two kids in our group and the home fit use pretty perfectly. the downstairs had the master and one guest with a king and queen bed along with bathrooms. When you go up the stairs you will walk into the loft which has two twin beds and a tv with a bathroom and another bedroom with a bunk bed. There was a great little porch and the back yard has an outdoor shower. you are about 2 blocks from the boardwalk that has beach access so we were able to walk from the house to the beach with our 6 and 3 year old with out any issues. You are a little further away from people but no more that 15 min from the ferry/center of town. The only negative we had about the house is that the water heater is only a 40 gal and with 7 people trying to take showers at once half of us got cold showers so I would recommend staggering those out if that is something you care about :)
